Turkey Rice and Beans
 
           
 
                                                                                   
 
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Pound of organic Turkey Breast meat
  • 1 can of red kidney beans
  • 1½ Cups of uncooked brown rice
  • Spices: Basil or cilantro, garlic powder, Lowery’s season salt, fermented soy sauce - such as Nama Shoyu* (or try your favorite spices)
 
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cook the rice with 3 cups of water for 50 minutes. 
While rice is cooking:
2. Place the ground turkey breast in a non-stick pan and chop up and brown
3. Cook turkey meat on medium heat until it is ¾ of the way done
4. Add one can of kidney beans (drain ½ the can before first). Cook for another 7-10 minutes and add spices at this time.
5. When rice is ready, place in a big bowl and combine with turkey and beans.
6. Sprinkle with Soy Sauce* if desired
 
* We like Nama Shoyu Soy Sauce made by Oshawa. It is the only fermented soy sauce we have found.   Soy products are hazardous to your health unless in fermented form. Nama Shoyu can be purchased at Jimbo’s.
